Johnson & Johnson

World Headquarters

Entech Engineering, Inc. was retained by Johnson & Johnson to complete a Facility Condition Assessment to quantify deficiencies and to develop a management tool for future capital planning for Johnson & Johnson World Headquarters facilities in New Brunswick, New Jersey. As part of this Facilities Condition Assessment, Entech performed detailed surveys for nine commercial properties making up the World Headquarters Complex from September through October 2001. The total gross area surveyed was 1.9 million square feet.

A major benefit of the assessment was the development of a database that effectively inventories and prioritizes building deficiencies and relative costs for repairs. The intent of the database is to provide Johnson & Johnson with a new resource that will, at any time, quantify the magnitude and relative priority of capital needs required to appropriately maintain the value of Johnson & Johnson’s facilities as assets. The need to treat facilities, as an asset that can either appreciate or depreciate in value demands the use of management tools that can be employed to effectively measure the current condition of an institution's facilities.
