Civil/Environmental Engineer (Entry Level) - Reading

Description:

Location: Reading, PA

We are currently looking to add to our growing team of dedicated professionals and we have an exciting opportunity for an entry level engineer to work out of our corporate headquarters, located in Reading, Pennsylvania. We are seeking someone with working knowledge of engineering fundamentals, design, and concepts as well as 1-3 years of experience in the municipal water and/or wastewater fields.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Pipeline and treatment plant design
  • Chemistry and process control
  • Hydraulic evaluation
  • Data analysis and report writing
  • Overall mechanical system/process design

A Bachelor of Science degree in civil or environmental engineering, excellent written and oral communication skills, advanced knowledge of Excel (working knowledge of Auto CAD preferred), and a valid driver’s license are required to be considered for this position. Electrical Designer - Reading

Description:

Location: Reading, PA

We are currently looking to add to our growing team of dedicated professionals and we have an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Designer with 7-10 years of experience to work out of our corporate headquarters in Reading, Pennsylvania.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
  • Design and develop detailed drawings employing x-refs plans and showing wiring, conduit and equipment in physical format
  • Perform calculations to size, select and specify electrical & control components for municipal water/wastewater or industrial clients
  • Attend and witness constructed Motor Starter and or Control Panels designed/built by others within a UL-508 A environment
  • Prepare design details to include utility contacts, power distribution, one line and elementary diagrams, power & control plan drawings
  • Basic panel layouts of MCC elevations and basic control panels to establish physical size
  • Produce electrical and control technical specifications based upon Mast Spec and/or Spec Text in CSI formats
  • Occasional day trips to project sites to sketch, photo document existing systems
  • Interface and communicate electrical and control concepts and ideas to internal and external clients
  • Directly work and interface with an internal team of municipal and industrial design professionals
Technical skills:
  • Leading the electrical design portions of a multi-discipline design project. 
  • Industrial type controls for piping and process systems. 
  • Developing and/or implementing design drawings and specifications for project work. 
  • Development of Process and Instrumentation Drawings (P&ID’s), wiring diagrams, loop diagrams, SCADA systems including designs using both PLC’s and RTU’s. Experience with Product lines-devices for Allen Bradley, Emerson (Bristol), Rockwell, Siemens, Honeywell, etc. is desired.
  • Acting as the liaison between utility company and project work for Electrical service needs for new facilities, and for those needing increased capacity. 
  • Supporting large scale power needs with others to determine feasibility, costs, and timing. 
  • Supporting design where needed including 3rd party engineers specializing in high voltage installations/modifications that teams with the company on occasion. 
  • Design of or the evaluation of the installation of electrical and controls for Hazardous Classification areas per NEC for API-500 and API-RP-505 classified areas. Experience with NFPA Codes for Flammable gases and liquids in particular is a plus.
  • Measurement and Regulation (M&R) designs for the oil and gas industry.
  • General power requirements for site fit-out and for providing backup power using generators and UPS units. 
  • Design of Site Grounding, Cathodic Protection (passive and impressed), and Lightning Protection for electronics, and Site Lighting for most sites dealing with Class 1, Division 1 and 2 classifications involved. 
  • Digital and analog instrumentation wiring, basic PLC hardware and HMI/OIT software.

In addition to the experience listed above, an associate’s degree in electrical design/drafting, advanced working knowledge Auto CAD and Excel, proficiency in AutoCAD Raster and Revit, excellent written and oral communication skills, and a valid driver’s license are required to be considered for this position. Environmental Project Manager - Pottsville

Description:

Location: Pottsville, PA 

We are currently looking to add to our team of dedicated professionals. We have an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Project Manager to work out of our office in Pottsville, PA.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Participating in sales proposal preparation and review of technical information. Participating in client presentations and following discussions and negotiations.
  • Managing project personnel.
    • Reviewing and approving assigned personnel.
    • Developing man hour estimates and fees
    • Providing input for performance appraisals for all assigned project section employees.
    • Recommending training and development needs for employees.
  • Directing technical and administrative efforts required to accomplish project requirements in accordance with project scope of work, design concept, design criteria, standing operating procedures, schedule, and budget.
  • Reporting on project status to clients and/or preparing information for project review meetings.
  • Directing the preparation of and approval of:
    • Project management reports
    • Billing Statements (Invoices)
    • Requests for Change Orders
  • Ensuring maintenance of project files and updating Vision during life of project.
  • Enforcing application of discipline checklists.
  • Providing technical analysis of bids.
  • Obtaining client's approval of project deliverables.
  • Directing project closeout procedures.
  • Developing and monitoring assigned budgets and schedules for assigned tasks.
  • Keeping administrative and functional supervisors informed of project status and deviations from project schedule and budget.
  • Preparing permit applications for clients.
  • Preparing reports on behalf of clients.
  • Advising on the regulatory requirements for projects.
  • Visiting project sites to collect data.
  • Applying knowledge of Federal and State environmental/industrial regulations to all project activities.
  • Training and/or directing less experienced environmental specialists.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Studies or Engineering
  • 5-7 years of project related environmental/industrial experience and 1-2 years of project management experience in the engineering/architectural industry.
  • Clear understanding and knowledge of state and federal environmental/industrial regulations and laws.
  • Able to prepare comprehensive project records and technical reports.
  • Able to make field observations of project-related work.
  • Able to establish and maintain effective relationships with associates, clients, vendors, consultants, and construction contractors.
  • Able to manage multi-phase projects, controlling for technical quality, schedule and cost factors, and maintaining client satisfaction.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills demonstrated through technical and project reports, proposals, presentations, and client interaction.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team of engineers, environmental specialists, designers, drafters, and administrative support personnel.
  • Ability to travel locally 2-3 times a month and overnight on occasion (approximately 1-2 times annually)
  • Valid Driver’s License
