Facility Condition Assessment

Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP) Philadelphia, PA

Projects

Overview

We were contracted to provide Facility Condition Assessment (FCA) services for the following 10 HUP buildings: Smilow Clinical/Research, Founders Pavilion, Silverstein Pavilion, Ravdin Building, Rhoads Building, Maloney Hall, Gibson, Centrex, and Alumni Hall.

The scope of work for Founders Pavilion, Silverstein Pavilion, and Smilow was to perform a thorough visual inspection of all the MEP and fire alarm systems. Architectural and Structural assessments were not a concern of HUP and not scoped during this time.

Solution Details

For the remaining portfolio we performed a thorough visual assessment of all the exterior and interior architectural features, site, MEP, and fire alarm systems. The goal was to deliver a comprehensive report to address deferred maintenance, capital renewal, and capital improvement projects. Each building received a thorough inspection that sought to identify deficiencies, recommended solutions, renewal costs, and priority years. Back up information such as photographs and building location projects were utilized to aid the Hospital with backup documentation to confirm our report. The information delivered helped to inform various levels of management in prioritizing projects and budgets within a ten year period of time.
