Mechanical Engineer

Description:

Location: Reading, PA

We are seeking someone with at least 8 years of experience in HVAC and/or Central Utilities (specifically steam and chilled water) planning and design along with internal QA/QC. We are looking for strong leadership skills to bring together internal design teams for HVAC and Central Utilities portions of multi-disciplined design projects. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to mechanical system design, building simulation/energy modeling (preferably HAP or Trace), field survey, data analysis, and report writing.

A Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering, active Pennsylvania PE license, advanced proficiency in Excel, working knowledge of MS Office, Revit MEP, and Auto CAD, excellent written and oral communication skills and a valid driver’s license are required to be considered for this position.  This is an excellent opportunity and a challenging position for an engineer seeking a wide variety of projects and clients.

Municipal Water/Wastewater Designer

Description:

Location:  Reading, PA

As a result of our continued growth, we currently have an immediate opportunity in our Reading, PA office for a designer to work with our Civil/Environmental Resources Group on a variety of Municipal Water/Wastewater projects.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Designing and preparing complete and accurate working plans, charts, scale drawings, and revisions for complex projects using skilled engineering drafting methods and procedures with the application of AutoCAD
  • Developing and interpreting process flow diagrams and P&IDs
  • Preparing and reviewing calculations to size and select specified equipment/material
  • Performing material take-offs and opinions of probable construction cost estimates
  • Preparing man hour estimates
  • Playing an active role as a technical liaison with clients
  • Contacting and interfacing with equipment vendors to obtain technical information, budget quotations, and catalog cuts
  • Periodic site visits to project construction sites for technical support of Project Manager
  • Participating in the training of junior level designers and drafters
  • Reviewing shop, vendor, and/or manufacturer drawings for compliance with contract documents
  • Coordinating and producing multi-discipline (architectural, structural, civil, process, electrical, etc.) project drawing sets
Candidates must have at least 8 years of experience performing all of the above responsibilities in the engineering and/or architectural industry.  

In addition, we are looking for someone with the following education and skills:

  • Associates degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Environmental technical disciplines along with formal training in AutoCAD
  • Proficiency in the latest version of AutoCAD with an emphasis on 3D design software such as Plant 3D
  • Knowledge of Revit a plus
  • Working knowledge of windows based operating systems, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Third Party Equipment Selection Software
  • Effective written and oral communication skills  
  • Able to work independently and exercise good judgment, while working under strict time constraints 
A valid driver’s license is required to be considered for this position.

  • Preparing plan view drawings
  • Preparing sections and details from plan view drawings

Candidate requirements are as follows:

  • 2-4 years of experience performing all of the above responsibilities in the engineering and/or architectural industry.  
  • Associates degree in Drafting Technology
  • Working knowledge of windows based operating systems, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, current version of AutoCAD, and Civil 3D
  • Effective written and oral communication skills  
  • Valid driver’s license

Project Architect

Description:

Location: Flexible: Reading or Lititz, PA.

We are seeking a registered professional with at least 8-10 years of project architect/project management experience including work with new construction, existing building renovations, historic preservation, and building surveying and documentation. Candidates must be proficient in AutoCAD, AutoDesk Revit, Sketchup, and MS Office applications, have excellent written and oral communication skills, strong client interaction skills, and the ability to lead architectural and multi-discipline projects in a team environment.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:

  • Assuming the role of a project architect/project manager within the Architectural Department
  • Leading multi-discipline projects with engineering professionals. 
  • Preparing architectural drawings and specifications 
  • Providing direction and oversight to architectural interns and support staff as required by project size and scope. 
  • Assisting with preparation of proposals 
  • Interfacing directly with clients when required on projects. 
  • Supporting the Facility Condition Assessment group on an as needed basis with existing building surveys and preparation of building condition assessments.

A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from a NAAB (National Architectural Accrediting Board) Degree Program, a valid driver’s license, and an active Professional Architectural license in the state of Pennsylvania are required to be considered for this position. Architects actively licensed in others states with current NCARB certification will also be considered.
