Reading, PA - Entech Engineering, Inc. (Entech) attended PennTec 2025: Pennsylvania Water Environmental Association (PWEA)’s 96th Annual Technical Conference & Exhibition. Taking place from June 22-25, this conference featured a range of topics focusing on water quality, as well as opportunities for networking with peers and industry professionals.
This year, two Entech employees were honored with awards at the conference’s Annual Awards Banquet. Kara Humes received the Walter A. Lyon Purity-of-Water Award, an award established by PWEA in 2006 given to an active or retired member of PWEA thought to have contributed significantly to the advancement and protection of water resources in Pennsylvania. Humes has worked at Entech since 1990.
After hearing the news about winning the award, Humes, Senior Project Manager, commented:
“I am grateful for the recognition of my peers in the water industry. Receiving the Walter A. Lyon Purity of Water Award is an honor and reflects the shared dedication of all who work to protect and advance the quality of our Commonwealth’s water resources.”
Dale Miller, an Entech employee since 2017 with over 30 years of experience, received two awards. Miller received the David A. Long Memorial Education Service Award, an award given in honor of Dr. David A. Long to a current PWEA member that has contributed to the education of water quality professionals. Additionally, Miller and his wife, Carole, received the Yenchko Meritorious Service Award, an award presented to an individual or couple who significantly contribute time to the PWEA.
Miller, Operations Manager, commented about his two awards:
“I’m humbled to receive the David A. Long Memorial Education Award, and Carole and I are honored to receive the Yenchko Meritorious Service Award. We enjoy serving at the PWEA and WEF Community Service events. Sharing knowledge is one of the most important aspects of this industry. I have had great mentors and hope that by sharing that knowledge, it honors them.”
In addition to winning these awards, Entech had the distinct honor of leading four technical sessions during the conference. Entech employees that led sessions included Natalie O’Connor, Tori Morgan, LO, Kara Humes, and Stacy Silva. These sessions covered topics like funding, Fats, Oils, and Grease (FOG), spill plans, and sustainability.
