Over $1M in Grants Awarded to Clients

Reading, PA – Entech Engineering, Inc. (Entech) is pleased to announce that it was successful in securing more than $1,000,000 in grant funding for several of its clients through this year’s PA Small Water and Sewer (PASWS) Program. The program is administered by the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA). Funds are awarded for projects ranging from $30,000 to $500,000 to assist with the construction, improvement, expansion, or rehabilitation or repair of a water supply or sanitary sewer system. The grants were awarded to fund projects for Antietam Valley Municipal Authority, Wallace Township Municipal Authority, South Londonderry Township Municipal Authority, Hawley Area Authority and Foster Township.

Award money will be used to complete a variety of projects including, grinder pump replacement, manhole rehabilitation, sewer extensions, and a pump station emergency generator.

“Receiving this grant is a great relief to the Authority and its rate payers,” said Scott Galbraith, South Londonderry Township Public Works Director. “The authority recently funded a $3.5 million construction of a new wastewater facility and are now facing the challenge of all four of the Authority’s wastewater facilities dealing with the impact of excessive inflow and infiltration from stormwater. As a result, the PA Department of Environmental Protection is requiring that a plan be submitted for reducing the surface and groundwater that is entering our collection system. This grant from the PA Small Water and Sewer Program will ease the financial burden that will be required to prepare the plan and complete rehabilitation of the areas in the collection system where stormwater flow is entering the sanitary sewer system.”

Leo Scott, PASWS program manager, at Entech adds,

“We are grateful to the CFA for recognizing the value of these projects and pleased that we could assist in acquiring these funds for our clients. This investment in local water and sewer projects is critical to maintaining local infrastructure while reducing costs that would ultimately be passed on to local residents.”

At Entech, we are always looking for funding opportunities to assist our clients in realizing their projects. Over the years, Entech has secured more than $200 million in funding packages that directly benefit our local and regional infrastructure.
