Energy Audits, Analysis, & Reduction

be informed; use less; do more

When it comes to the costly energy used in your buildings and infrastructure, using less saves operating dollars and allows you to further invest those savings into your goals and mission far into the future once, project costs are recouped. This is why we evaluate energy usage in everything we do, giving you the power to make informed decisions and do more.

Along with benefiting your bottom line, the greenest energy is energy that isn’t used or needed. As most energy production creates carbon dioxide emissions, using less energy reduces your carbon footprint, lowering your overall environmental impact.

Through our energy assessment, auditing, and analysis you receive an energy reduction plan. Our certified energy managers and engineers complete a thorough investigation of your buildings, infrastructure, or systems energy usage, and identify energy conservation measures (ECMs) or energy projects. ECM project costs and savings are used to calculate payback periods; projects are then prioritized to minimize your payback periods to start earning returns on your energy investments sooner. Those energy projects are then presented in your energy reduction plan for implementation.

Your energy project progress can be easily tracked and reported via our energy database, which is customized to help you achieve your energy goals, by allowing you to make more informed decisions. ECMs also calculate carbon emission reductions; coupled with existing deferred maintenance projects from a facility condition assessment to plan and budget maintenance and energy projects within a single system, maximizing economies of scale.

Energy audits and reduction planning can investigate:

  • HVAC
  • Lighting
  • Electrical equipment
  • Domestic water
  • Wastewater
  • Central utilities
  • Fuel consumption
  • Steam/Hot/Cold water distribution
  • Utility infrastructure
  • Operations

Reduce your energy use in:

  • Offices
  • Classrooms
  • Laboratories
  • Residence halls
  • Manufacturing plants
  • Warehouses
  • Central heating plants
  • Central chiller plants

Energy Audit Levels Overview:

LEVEL I
  • Walkthrough survey to identify low cost ECMs
  • Analyze energy bills to calculate and benchmark Energy Use Index (EUI)
  • Estimate potential energy savings
LEVEL II
  • All Level I items plus:
  • Review MEP O&M and condition
  • Provide cost and payback on all ECMs
  • Interview O&M staff
  • Provide Measurement & Verification (M&V) recommendations
Level III
  • All Level I & II items plus:
  • Detailed system modeling
  • Schematic layouts for ECMs
