The Assessment

it’s time to take to the field!

Once the strategic pre-planning meetings have clearly identified the assets and data sets that need to be assessed, our assessment team(s) are ready to take to the field. For most facility condition assessments, two-person teams follow ASTM-E2018 standards and methodology, systematically combing through your buildings and campus, leveraging their mechanical and architectural expertise to identify deferred maintenance, capital renewal, and capital improvement projects.

Projects are documented, photographed, and categorized by uniformat and/or custom designations, to allow simple sorting and analysis of buildings and campus systems. After the fieldwork is complete, desktop reviews are completed to assign costs and transition the data into the database.

typical systems/items surveyed:

MECHANICAL/ELECTRICAL/PLUMBING (MEP)
  • Electrical
  • HVAC Heating & Cooling
  • Plumbing
  • Lighting
  • Fire Protection
  • Comm./Data Infrastructure
ARCHITECTURAL
  • Exteriors
  • Foundations
  • Elevators
  • Site/Civil
  • Roofs
  • Interiors
  • Historic

The systems and components that are found to have immediate or upcoming needs are further objectively assessed and categorized, which ultimately allows you to sort, filter and further analyze your project data from a variety of perspectives. The outcomes, details, and approach to collecting any subjective data is discussed during the pre-planning stage.
