Overview
When a renovation at a Compressor Station in Pennsylvania resulted in critical documentation gaps, we stepped in to help close them. The Compressor Station had previously undergone a major renovation to its electrical and control systems, but it left them with deficient and inaccurate electrical drawings and control drawings were never produced.
The Owner of the station recognized the need for up-to-date and accurate drawings. We were then contracted to create these drawings in order to ensure safety and efficiency in future maintenance and operations activities at this important natural gas infrastructure facility.
The electrical system consists of a new three-phase service entrance, main distribution panel, transfer switch, motor control center, and various distribution panels and motor drives. The control system consists of approximately 300 I/O points divided among several control panels located in the control building, electrical room, and pump house.

Services Provided
- One-line diagrams with feeder schedules.
- Electrical power plans documenting electrical equipment locations and cable tray and conduit routings.
- Hardware configuration/network drawing with IP addresses.
- Hybrid drawing/photos of control panel internals with equipment callouts.
- Basic loop diagrams of PLC I/O cards and field devices.
- Mark up of the Plant3D model of the station to coordinate device field tags with the P&ID designations and PLC tags
We worked closely with the Owner’s site representative to determine the state of the electrical and control systems. This included reviewing all existing site documentation and multiple site visits. During the walk-throughs, all existing electrical and control equipment was documented, pictures were taken to note the location and existing condition of the installation, and all existing site documentation was redlined.
For the final submission, the Owner requested an update to their current, deficient drawings to meet Entech’s standards in an effort to standardize their electrical and control drawing packages. Following a client review meeting, we provided a full, detailed as-built set of drawings for both the electrical and control system of the site.
The electrical set included all existing panel schedules, one-line power drawings, electrical equipment location, and electrical aerial site plan. The control set included network mapping, basic loop diagrams and hybrid drawing depicting the current state of control infrastructure.
