New Office Feasibility & Design

Cardiology Consultants of Philadelphia Paoli, PA

Projects

Overview

Cardiology Consultants of Philadelphia (CCP) provides comprehensive cardiology services in more than 30 community-based locations in Philadelphia and surrounding areas. The practice was considering expanding to a new location in Paoli, PA and had identified a potential location.

Entech was asked by a partner Architect, Array Architects, to complete a feasibility study of all building systems in the 16,000 sf portion of the first floor of the property that was being considered for the new physician’s practice. The study included an assessment of the existing building systems, an analysis of how they would support occupancy by CCP, and a basis of design with proposed usage requirements and needed upgrades to accommodate the practice.

Following completion of the feasibility study, we were engaged to provide engineering services related to the recommended MEP upgrades for the renovation.

Solution Details

Entech provided professional engineering services for mechanical (HVAC, plumbing, sprinkler) and electrical (power, lighting, fire alarm) assessments of the existing building systems and basis of design followed by final design and construction services for implementation of the recommended improvements.

Modifications included revisions to the space layouts as needed to accommodate the CCP Physician Practice program needs along with all utility and infrastructure changes to serve the new spaces. The plumbing scope included modification of the existing domestic water and wastewater systems, including equipment, fixtures, and distribution. Using existing equipment, the fire protection system was modified to accommodate the new room layout. Modification and expansion of the existing fire alarm system provided for a complete code compliant system which included pull stations, smoke detection, duct detectors, horn and strobe alarms, sprinkler interlock.

The existing electrical service was modified (feeders, panels, branch wiring, and devices) to serve the new area related to HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and fire alarms, as well as medical equipment needs. Interior lighting and controls were also updated to enhance the renovated spaces.
