Overview

We partnered with the project architect to design a new Pennsylvania State Police (PASP) Station in Media, PA. The new one-story, 16,800-square-foot facility was developed by a private entity and leased to the PASP.

We provided comprehensive mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) engineering services for the Pennsylvania State Police Media Station, ensuring full alignment with PASP requirements and applicable codes. The facility included offices, conference rooms, a communications room, locker rooms, and evidence and general storage areas.

Our scope encompassed electrical, plumbing, and HVAC system design in accordance with PASP General Specifications and Space Design Criteria. The HVAC system was engineered as a high-performance solution featuring fully ducted return air to enhance system control and indoor air quality, supported by detailed building load calculations for optimal sizing. Domestic hot water is provided via a natural gas system.

The electrical design encompassed complete power distribution for the facility, including a full-building emergency generator to maintain operations during outages, energy-efficient LED lighting, and integrated fire alarm and teledata systems serving all spaces. We also coordinated the infrastructure required for security, communications, and public address systems, working closely with third-party designers to ensure seamless integration. Plumbing systems were designed to efficiently meet operational demands while supporting overall building performance and reliability.

The station was designed to support critical law enforcement operations, including administrative offices, communications, evidence storage, and secure support spaces. A key goal was to deliver a reliable, energy-efficient building that met strict state police design standards while ensuring long-term operational resilience.
