Med Spa MEP Renovation

Tower Health Reading, PA

Projects

Overview

Tower Health needed to renovate its general medical practice facility to support the operations of its new outpatient Plastics and Medical Spa suite. The Keiser Building, constructed in the early 2000s and later renovated from an insurance office to a general medical practice facility, is a one-story, 10,000 sq.ft., free-standing building off of Tower Health’s main campus. We provided Mechanical and Electrical engineering to support the renovations to the existing facility, including all utility and infrastructure changes to serve the new spaces.

Solution Details

Partnering with Array Architects, we provided mechanical and electrical services for the development of drawings and technical specification documents for competitive bidding and construction administration services. Our mechanical and electrical services included HVAC, plumbing, sprinkler and power, lighting, fire alarm, tele/data, AV, and security.

Challenges included a quick design time-frame and creating hospital grade spaces in a light commercial building with water source heat pump systems and limited structural capacity for rooftop equipment.

We investigated the current mechanical and electrical systems to determine solutions to meet the project goals and scope. Our team provided analysis and recommendations for modern, maintainable and sustainable building systems for mechanical and electrical renovations and provided all engineering design and documentation necessary for permitting and construction. The project successfully supported Tower Health’s mission to provide compassionate, accessible, high-quality, cost-effective healthcare to the community.
