Facility Condition Assessments

Johnson & Johnson North America

To manage their portfolio of physical assets, Johnson & Johnson (J&J) utilized Entech's facility condition assessment services as a planning and budgeting tool to identify, prioritize, and schedule deferred maintenance and capital projects within their buildings and campuses, allowing them to operate efficiently, reliably, and safely.

Over the years, we have helped J&J manage their maintenance, renewal, and improvement projects in various buildings and campuses through the United States and Puerto Rico. Over 130 buildings and 6.75M square feet of space was assessed. The various buildings included spaces for general and executive offices, research labs, vivariums, clean room manufacturing, tool and dye manufacturing, quality assurance, shipping and receiving, cafeterias, fitness and wellness centers, training facilities, conference areas, and chemical storage facilities.

The investigations identified building system deficiencies and determined system renewal costs for the next ten years. Projects and costs are stored, presented, prioritized, and managed within our FM-Assistant software. J&J can now treat its facilities as assets that can either appreciate or depreciate in value demands by effectively measuring the current condition of an institution’s facilities. The software can, at any time, quantify the magnitude and relative priority of capital needs required to appropriately maintain the value of Johnson & Johnson’s facilities as assets.
